Pichon Lalande was one of the first Chateaux to produce a true second wine: Reserve de La Comtesse, a fine second wine it is too. Incredible value for those looking for an outstanding wine from one of the most respected Chateaux in Bordeaux but which is a bit more approachable when younger.

A deep colour with scents of dark chocolate, black raspberry, mint and caramel. Soft, medium-bodied and silky, the wine ends with black and red berries, cocoa, and fresh herbs in the cherry-dominated finish. Drinkable now, but will come into its own from 2018 onwards. Clarets are wines that pair best with red meats, game or hard cheeses.
