Glenmorangie's oldest and rarest whisky, with incredible depth of flavour. The age and scarcity of this whisky make it a bottle to own with pride in your collection. Distilled in 1974 and bottled in 2016, the whisky is a marriage of two parcels, one from bourbon casks, and the other from Oloroso sherry casks thus making it so rare. The result is a momentous whisky, with striking sophistication and complexity. A culmination of years of passion, patience and artistry.
The aroma is wonderfully deep, rich, and salty with hints of salted caramel, Turkish delight and aged balsamic vinegar. Three or four drops of water release further complex vapours of warm brioche, ginger snap, and gentle blood orange. For a whisky of this age, the mouthfeel is surprisingly soft, with vibrant flavours of baked apples, oranges and honey, menthol, with additions of toffee, molasses and double cream. The aftertaste lingers with pecan nuts, fudge, and creamy cafe latte.
