The world of Cire Trudon was created in 1643 when Claude Trudon became the owner of a boutique on rue Saint-Honoré where he began his activity as a grocer and candler. Trudon’s candles were favoured throughout the capital, even seducing the court of Louis the 15th and the kingdom’s largest parishes because of their high quality and pure white wax. The Manufacture supplied Versailles up to the last days of the Ancient Regime and survived through the French Revolution.
Today, Trudon’s fragrances and candles are a result of a careful development process. Choosing the raw materials, testing the formulas and mixing the perfumes with the wax are some of the steps that lead the way to producing each product. All candles are handmade in Normandy, France, using the utmost care and patience. The motto of the brand is “Deo Regique Laborant” meaning “The bees work for God and the King”.
