To quote one producer '2013 was a Burgundian vintage what he meant by this was that hail, rain and cold all came at the wrong moments damaging the crop throughout the growing season. In the old days this would have written off the vintage, but with better knowledge and techniques (vigilant vineyard management chief among them) top Burgundian producers were able to turn what should have been an ugly duckling into a swan of a year.
A dark garnet Pinot Noir whose nose goes straight into alluring woody, fruity and spice notes. On the palate this is round and full on, wonderful silky velvety tannins make this wine incredible moreish.
