La Mouline is the earliest of the three La La's to be picked due to its exposure, it is fermented in a different style to the other two aswell (pump overs) and tends to be the most approachable of the three and is ready to drink at a younger age, however will still mature gloriously for decades.

La Turque could be described as a combination of the other two La La's. It is bigger and more tannic than La Mouline but doesn't achieve the supreme power, structure and weight of La Landone. This is a lean muscly concentrated superstar.

La Landonne is the most masculine of the three La La's, and takes much longer than the other La La wines to mature, but also lasts longer. It also shows the most minerality along with blackberry, grilled meat, spice, tobacco and truffle.

E.Guigal

When Etienne Guigal first arrived at the tiny village of Ampuis, he was totally captivated by both the beauty of the region and the quality of the wines. At just 14, he began to work in the vineyards for Vidal-Fleury, at the very centre of the Côte-Rôtie appellation, which have been deservedly famous for 2,400 years. He left to found the Giugal Estate in 1946 and which with his enormous talent he built into a huge success, eventually buying Vidal-Fleury the company he had started out with. A true rags to riches story!

Now in the third generation of the Giugal family, the estate now owns some of the finest vineyards in Côte-Rôtie. On land originally planted by the Romans, Guigal’s light-touch approach to viniculture allows them to maximise their land, which can be considered amongst the finest terroir in France.
