The addition of Cabernet Franc is a fantastic choice, giving the wine a lovely mineral chalkiness, almost as you would season your food with salt or pepper. This saves the wine from being too rich as can sometimes happen with straight Malbec.
Chakana have done extensive research into their soils and winemaking practice in order to create the best possible wine. It is a wonderfully scented wine with dark berries, mocha and some smoked meat. Lovely silky tannins and perfectly balanced oak make this a standard bearer for Argentina. We also think the label is rather fun! An interesting fact: Chakana is the Inca word for the Southern Cross star constellation.
